Somali government nullifies Eithopia, DP World, Somailand tripartite agreement on Berbera Port

Somalia government has strongly apposed a deal that DP World gave Ethiopia 19% ownership of the Berbera port terming it illegal and a threat to the Somali unity and sovereignty.

In a statement, the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport says Somali govenment was not part to the agreement and has not assigned any representative to act on its behalf. “The Federal Government of Somalia is not party to this so-called investment agreement” a statement said.

“The so called agreement is both defective and detrimental to the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia” the statement continued adding that it defective and detrimental to the sovereignty of Somali Republic.
